Dear Reader,

This Holiday issue of the 3rd Thursday Newsletter
https://www.beeugenebecreative.com/blog starts from a place of gratitude.
I want to say a huge thank you to the community for turning out to amplify
the Voices of Tacoma and share the work of Tacoma’s own poets and literary
artists. It’s been an amazing two months since the book launched and now we
look forward to new ventures.

Our partnership with Tacoma Public Library continues with our monthly Gathering
of Poets https://tacoma.bibliocommons.com/events/671be927e39a442f00aa90b8.
These events are an opportunity for folks to come to listen to poetry, read
their own (or others’) work, or just relax and listen. Our next Gathering
is January 15th at Swasey Library, so come join us!

The artist Mauricio Robalino
https://www.artpeople.com/?srsltid=AfmBOoqrdTny2iWWR91Hvxol0-7jqY3yVDeMw_3Kj0Sl8JnpOkjfhQhn,
who created the cover art and the illustrations for the anthology, is again
partnering with #VoicesOfTacoma to create a coloring book. Expected to be
ready for purchase in early January, the book will include all of the
artwork from the anthology for artists of all ages to color and to make
Mauricio’s amazing work their own.

Lastly, we have begun working on the “Making of…” book. This companion book
to Voices of Tacoma will chronicle the work that went into creating this
anthology, from initial planning to coordinating community events, through
edit, design, and publication of the book. Intended to help others create
community focused work, we plan to publish in Spring 2025.

Wishing you the best for this holiday season and looking forward to sharing
more #VoicesOfTacoma in the New Year!
