Do you have any questions for the Bellevue Police Department?
This month our remote monthly HOA meeting will feature a representative from the Bellevue Police Department. Because of time restrictions, we will be compiling your questions BEFORE the meeting to get through as many as possible. Your questions will only be compiled through July 1st for the July 2nd meeting, so please email your questions sooner rather than later to Chris Bodiford at president@vuecrest.net mailto:president@vuecrest.net.
Vuecrest Lamp Post Rejuvenation
Did you know that we have ninety-six vintage lamp posts in our neighborhood? You’ve probably noticed that it’s been a very long time since they’ve received any attention, but finally their time has come. Your HOA has been working hard to get the bids that will return the lamp posts to their former glory, and we’ve finally found the right company to do the work. So, here’s what we need YOU to do to allow the company we hire to get the job done quickly and efficiently. If you have a lamp post on your property, please remove any dirt and/or vegetation at the base of the lamp post. Also, remove/trim/tie back any vegetation that may be touching the lamp post or rub/be blown up against the lamp post after it has been painted and is still drying. Thank you for your help!
Below you’ll find the scope of work and approximate start date:
· 96 poles throughout the Vuecrest neighborhood
· Pressure wash each lamp post
· Scuff sand each lamp post
· Remove glass parts when painting, clean and reinstall (includes clear glass shade and white glass dome)
· Primer with Sherwin Williams Pro-Cryl primer
· Paint with Sherwin Williams Pre-Catalyzed urethane paint (gloss black)
· Polish and clear coat brass spindles on each post
· 14 day (start to finish)
· Project start date – July 2020
Grinding and Repaving is Going Well
From what we’ve seen, the streets of Vuecrest are going to be better than ever! According to the Pavement Manager they are expected to finish the major work by this Friday, June 26th or Monday, June 29th (weather permitting). After that, they will be accomplishing a bit of minor finish work throughout the neighborhood at individual locations. If you have any questions or concerns the Pavement Program Manager at the City of Bellevue is Kyle Potuzak, kpotuzak@bellevuewa.gov mailto:kpotuzak@bellevuewa.gov, 425.452.2027 or general email contact is pavement@bellevuewa.gov mailto:pavement@bellevuewa.gov.

Bellevue Launches Great Neighborhoods Program Contributed by Brooke Brod
The launch of the Bellevue Great Neighborhoods Program began with online meetings on June 16th and 17th. NE Bellevue has a population of 10,555 and NW Bellevue has a population of 8,911, and we’d like to thank everyone who was able to attend. We had lively discussions about how COVID-19 has changed the way people are experiencing and connecting with their neighbors. We talked about the various issues people want to discuss during this process. And we talked about how people can engage in the planning process. You can download a copy of the presentation at www.engagingbellevue.com/northwest-bellevue http://www.engagingbellevue.com/northwest-bellevue.
We’re excited to continue these conversations about what is important to you over the coming weeks and months. Here are a few ways for you to join the conversations right now.
Take our survey https://www.engagingbellevue.com/northwest-bellevue/survey_tools/values-survey-nw – the first step in the neighborhood planning process is creating a vision statement and we want to know which values should guide that vision.
Help Create a Neighborhood Portrait https://www.engagingbellevue.com/northwest-bellevue?tool=story_telling_tool#tool_tab – we know that what really makes a neighborhood special are the people, unique places, stories, traditions, and history. We’re asking you to share your photos, stories, mementos and more to help us create a personalized portrait of your neighborhood.
8,000 people make their home in Northwest Bellevue and we hope to reach to as many people as possible during this process. You can help by become an Outreach Ambassador. Outreach Ambassadors commit to engaging at least five other people, sharing opportunities to participate with their neighbors, and helping with events. If you are interested in learning more, please reach out to Brooke Brod at bbrod@bellevuewa.gov mailto:bbrod@bellevuewa.gov.
Securing Bellevue’s future as a livable, inspiring, vibrant and equitable community is our mission and we look forward to collaborating with you to make that possible.
