Calling all teaching artists - all artistic disciplines, all parts of Washington State!

Applications now being accepted for the Washington State Teaching Artist Training Lab, an 8-month professional development program with a focus on supporting teaching artists' work in K-12 public schools. If you are interested in taking your teaching to the next level and being part of a community of like-minded arts educators, check this out. The application deadline is July 24.

  • Program runs September 2014 to April 2015

  • Attend three in-person training sessions lasting 2-3 days and held in Seattle

  • Participate in five 90-minute teleconferences facilitated by a teaching artist mentor

  • Receive ongoing, individualized support from mentors and peers
    CORE FOCUS & KEY TOPICS:

  • Supporting collaborative partnerships with K-12 public schools

  • Thoughtful lesson planning and reflective practice

  • Articulating clear learning objectives & assessing student learning in the arts

  • Engaging with social justice & 21st Century Skills
    This is a tuition-based program; scholarships are available, as well as travel support for teaching artists from outside of Seattle.
