Interesting question about the hummers in Lyme.  Here in East Hartford I have noticed that the males have disappeared from my feeders within the last few days.  I am now seeing only females and juvies.  Perhaps they are indeed on the move.

The hummingbird activity here in Lyme has picked up significantly lately.
There are at least 10 hummingbirds and probably more swarming around our
mimosa tree and going back and forth to the feeder and other flowers.  Is
this the start of the migration already (seems a bit early) or are these
locals who are stocking up for their long flight to their wintering grounds?
