Sorry for the late post. I went to Rocky Hill Meadows after work yesterday morning to see if there were any unusual sparrows there. Only found the usual inhabitants for sparrows but did have a pair of PURPLE FINCH.
I had better luck with sparrows when I arrived home as I had a LINCOLN SPARROW in my yard. I've also had any where from 2-4 PURPLE FINCH at my feeders daily for the last week and a half.

I've seen 4,000+ Purple Finch at Lighthouse (others have seen many more) but with the exception of a couple in the woods nearby, haven't seen a speck of wine color, on any of 'em.
I guess I need to just stock my feeders and hope.
