I'm replacing my 4D's with 8 Golf Cart batteries. Of course, the existing
fibreglass boxes are about 1/2" too short in one direction so the GC's won't
fit. Has anyone fabricated battery boxes? If so, what material(s) did you
use?
Cheers, Garrett

Nigel Calder has plans for an epoxy/glass reinforced plywood box affair in
"Boatowner's Mechanical and Electric Manual". Haven't built one, but his
looks very shippy.

Garrett,
For my GRP 31 batteries I was in the same fix. Went to the auto parts store
and pur. real nice Plastic ones for each battery and then fastened them
securely.
The strap that comes with them is used ONLY to hold the tops on.Very neat ( and
cheap) , tops and all.
One heck of a lot less work than building glass ones.
