Detroit recomends cleaning heat exchangers with a
comixture of water, muriatic acid, and oxalic acid.
Where does one buy the Oxalic Acid. I have never seen
it in any marine or hardware supply house.

Tom:
West Marine sells it. It is used by woodworkers to bleach wood.

Here in Toronto you can get it at any drugstore (sign poison
register) or in larger quantity from paint stores (equally poisonous
but you don't have to sign the register ;-)

Tom:
Most teak cleaners contain oxalic acid. Also, chemical rust removers are
mostly the same.
Any chemical supply house should be able to supply you with oxalic acid in
powder form.
