BEST WISHES FOR A SAFE AND SUCCESSFUL EVENT...
... to all Gators who will be rocking, riding, running, leaping,
spartaning, swimming, or otherwise competing this weekend!
Thirtysomething! That's how many Gators ages 6 to 60+ are in action this
weekend across 9 events taking place in a total of 4 states! And it all
starts tonight!
In case you missed it...
• Gators Bike Maintenance/Tire Changing Clinic! It's taking place before
our intervals ride on Tuesday 6/21. If you do not know how to expertly
change a flat tire, be there. If you do not know how to show your bike
some love and tenderness, be there! See "Event" for more details...

• Miss your opportunity to get an awesome looking Gator uniform? We have a
survey under "Featured" / "Announcements" regarding a potential 2nd order.
For any items that we hit a minimum of 6 (combined female and male) we will
place an order. As of the time of this posting we are looking for 1 more
running singlet order, 2 more cycling aero jerseys, and 3 more tri shorts
orders.
• Our 2022 member t-shirts are going, going... not yet gone! Sizes are
first come, first serve, so see Jill Basile or Don Mack to get one before
they are outta hear! We also still have visors and Gator logo car magnets
available FREE to a good home!
• Are you in? The latest version of our "Who's In?" 2022 athlete event
calendar was posted earlier this week. You can always find the latest
version under "Featured"/"Announcements" and "Files".
• Philly Women's Tri volunteers needed! Join us for one of the best and
most rewarding parties of the year at the Gator hydration station on the
Philadelphia Women's Triathlon run course! We've already started to work on
DJ Ho's playlist that will include song requests by our Lady Gators as they
motor on through the station! Besides having a ton of fun, we'll receive a
donation from DelMo Sports for every volunteer! Please register today (the
registration password is "GATORS22ROCK")...

"Gator of the Month" interview posted under "Featured"/"Announcements"!
Weekend Workouts: Take advantage of this spectacular weather weekend by
getting outside! We have a couple of options for you to consider...
• Saturday 6/11, 8:15am, Blue Marsh Dry Brooks Day Use Area: Uncoached Open
Water Swimming: Three weekends in a row, how about that! Join us for this
swim only workout that will include an "as long as you want" swim in the
"no vehicles" area between the beach and the open water; the course is 200
to 500 yards depending on your chosen route, so there is something for
everyone and you can also test out your wetsuit. Contact Jill Basile if you
need any additional details
• Sunday 6/12, 11:15am-12:15pm, Spring Valley YMCA indoor lap pool:
Uncoached group swim workout
• Do you want to lead a group bike ride or run? We highly encourage you to
share on our Facebook group any rides or runs that you are doing where
you'd like some company!
Weekend Events: Here's our start list for this weekend; if you have an
event this weekend that is not included below, please post a comment so
that we can send good Gator vibes your way, too!...
Friday, June 10:
• Creative Health Mile (Limerick, PA): This event, formerly known as the
Saucony Mile, will feature two Gators speeding down the runway including
Lylly Darling and AJ Krüppa. Go Lylly and AJ!
Saturday, June 11:
• Million Dollar Bike Ride (Philadelphia): Brian Kozera and Kristin Kozera
will be riding in this event that supports research for rare diseases. Go
Brian and Kristin (and Avery)!
• Poconos Triathlon Festival (Hawley, PA): This is the middle day of this
three day event that features a SwimRun prologue and kids Splash and Dash
on Friday night and a sprint triathlon on Sunday. The Saturday events
include Olympic and Half IRONMAN distance events. David Stone and Chris
Townsley will both be competing in the 70.3 distance as part of their
buildup to IRONMAN Lake Placid. Go David and Chris!
• Tri-State New York Spartan Sprint (Bethel, NY): So if you are not in the
Poconos or at Eagleman, what's the next best way to prep for IRONMAN Lake
Placid? Obviously it's to compete in back-to-back Spartan sprint events as
will be the case with 2022 Spartan multi-time podium finisher Jon Crosby!
Go Jon!
Sunday, June 12:
• CLUB/SPONSOR EVENT: Scoogie Events' "Kids Rock Spring Triathlon" (Ambler,
PA): Our youth Gators are back in action in another fun Scoogie event!
This time around participants include Juliana Kelecic, Katie Kelecic, Nora
Sabatino (competing in her FIRST TRIATHLON!), Belle Stone, and Lily Stone.
Go Juliana, Katie, Nora, Belle, and Lily!
• SPONSOR EVENT: DelMo Elite Sports' "Escape the Cape Triathlon and OWS"
(Lower Township, NJ): We have a much lighter than usual turnout of Gators
taking the "leap of faith" this year, but we will have both events covered
with Sheri Kuss taking on the 3 mi open water swim and Sara Dansbury
competing in her FIRST OLYMPIC TRI! Go Sheri and Sara!
• CLUB EVENT: French Creek Iron Tour (Kimberton, PA): This may be a record
year with 12 Gators participating in the ride. We have riders at a variety
of distances including 100 milers Sonny Dayrit, Doug Raab, Jennifer Raab,
Deb Rocco, and Don Schlichtmann (plus Patty Trainer), 100K/62 milers Joe
"Along for the Ride" DeNicola and Susan "Taking Him for a Ride" Flavin, and
50 milers Sarah Barkley, Angela Epelbaum, Gleb Epelbaum, Beth Wysoczanski,
and James Wysoczanski. Go Gators!
• IRONMAN 70.3 Eagleman (Cambridge, MD): Our participants in this popular
half IRONMAN distance event include Mary Anderson, Ginny Angus, Sean Lodge,
and Hannah Ludescher. Go Mary, Ginny, Sean, and Hannah!
• Tri-State New York Spartan Sprint (Bethel, NY): This is not a recording!
Jon Crosby makes it a well-rounded Spartan weekend! Go Jon!
Have a great weekend taking your own leap of faith, have fun, and Gator
Done! 🐊
EDITOR'S NOTE: I think that a lot of you are aware that I recently had knee
surgery (meniscus tear; May 31) and less of you probably know that I tested
positive for COVID yesterday, so what the heck, if I'm going to be
recovering I might as well multitask and recover from two things at the
same time!
It's disappointing that I'm not getting to make my first jump off the ferry
at Escape the Cape, but the upside is that I'll be in my basement all
weekend with nothing to do except for tracking and reporting on the
progress of all of you! Additionally I don't have to worry about getting
sunburned, there's no risk of getting poison ivy, and I won't have to check
for ticks.
And, also, my knee recovery seems to be going remarkably well and my COVID
symptoms are thankfully mild, so I expect that by the time I come out of my
bunker next Wednesday, I'll be able to get back to training, just in time
to still make it to IRONMAN Lake Placid. See you at next Wednesday's swim
workout and/or Thursday's bike ride!
