During Sanderling's recent trip from Solomons to Boston and back, we had
recurring problems with the starboard engine's fuel line, and
periodically had to tighten the fittings at the base of the fuel pump
and where the flexible fuel hose joins the metal line.
With an oil absorbing mat under the engine, I'm not discharging any fuel
overboard, but it is a real bother since the fuel pump fitting is (of
course) right against the outside of the boat and nearly inaccessible.
Any suggestions as to what I might be able to do to keep the fittings
from loosening? I'm applying about all the pressure I can with a wrench.

I had good success with a drop of "Loctite" on the threads. But be
careful: there are different types of Loctite available. Choose the
one suitable for the fuel you are using and don't get any Loctite
inside the fittings. It is for the thread only!
