Hello Everyone,

I spent some time birding the Kortright Centre yesterday and today.  This
morning I was delighted to see a Red-bellied Woodpecker feeding amongst a
Hairy Woodpecker,* a Pileated Woodpecker* and a few White-breasted
Nuthatches
by trail marker “G”.  There were two *Trumpeter Swans *also
present at the Kortright Marsh along with a Great Blue Heron visible from
the blind.  In addition *Belted Kingfishers *are still present in the
Humber River and I spotted Common Raven in the same area, just south of
trail marker “D”.

If you are planning on visiting Kortright it may also be worthwhile to
visit trail marker “K” as I observed a Barred Owl and White-winged
Crossbills
here late last week.  A Northern Shrike has also been hanging
around the hawthorns on the south end of the property for the past couple
of weeks, around trail marker “KK”.

Directions: The Kortright Centre (9550 Pine Valley Drive, Woodbridge) is
located 3km west of Highway 400, north Rutherford road and south of Major
Mackenzie Drive on Pine Valley Drive and is open to the public daily from
10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Good Birding!
