The new boat has a 10 ft. Caribe RIB with 15 HP Yamaha 4 stroke.
To say it has a planing problem is an understatement. Even with a single
person, it's forever to get on top of the water.
Any listees with experience using a Doel-Fin on a similar application?
I've tried adjusting the motor angle, no improvement.
Just another item on the long list of bugs!

I used a Doel Fin on an Avon RIB 280 and it was excellent. I also placed the
gas tank in the bow and bought a cheap extension arm for the motor's tiller
arm. This placed my weight further forward. As a result, I could easily go
too fast. The bolts and the aluminum transmission housing could react so use
Tef Gel or Lanocote to protect these dissimilar metals.

Hi Steve,
We've played with these things with several different motors, and I'd say
the Doel-fin will help with the planing for sure. In my experience, it will
take a little off the top end, but will be worth it. Another thing I would
do is get all the weight up front that you can. Battery if you have one,
fuel tank, etc.

Steve:
The Doel-Fin will work as advertised and will improve your ability to get up
on plane. Another improvement that will help as much as the D-F is a flatter
pitch prop. Given that your motor is 4 cycle and it has a peaky power band,
you will see a lot of improvement with the flatter pitched prop.
FWIW, with a 10 hp two cycle and a 10' Apex RIB I could easily plane three
people with the standard prop and no D-F. I only needed help when I switched
to a heavier and shorter RIB.

Yep. Had one on a Yamaha 55 outboard strapped to a 17ft RIB. Worked fine and
I would buy one again.
As has been said, weight distribution is all important.
One person and a heavy motor in a little inflatable will struggle to get on
the plane.
