Mike,
I am presently developing a website specifically to provide many
valuable resources to and for boaters, including a national marina
directory among many other things.
One of the things we intend to do is to encourage and make it easy for
marinas to set up a WiFi system for use by both visiting and permanent
boaters. The plan is to put together a package of equipment through
third parties and even to provide installation if needed through a third
party installer. Those marinas with WiFi would be so indicated in our
Marina Directory along with other amenities they provide or is
available. We do not intend to be involved in the purchase and sale of
this equipment, only to set up the resource and packages, provide the
information and a means of putting the parties together.
If you would like to work together in this matter, please contact me off
list.

I am on trail to encouraging marinas to install and operate WIFI

If you know of any lists of marinas that have WIFI or for that matter
any
marinas that have a public or even a private system installed, let me
know.
In the meantime, I intend to collect the necessary materials to guide
the
selection, installation and operation. To create a list of marinas that
have such infrastructure and to encourage them to exchange information
amongst themselves.
In the meantime, "the rest of you" can pester your local marinas by
letting
them know that you think they should do this, but even more importantly
have them post on their bulletin boards the information where boaters
can
find the nearest public usable WIFI hotspot(s).
I intend to push this forward by pestering all the coastal harbor
marinas
that I frequent and help them get on the bandwagon.
Regards,
Mike
