Nuclear isomeric (as opposed to atomic) transition clocks fascinate me, as much for the potential to explore practical applications of the 'other' fundamental forces as for their promise of improved tools for metrology. Explorations of Sc, 229Th and similar isotopic species would see to open whole new areas of application. Dave W.
