Our yard was full of RT Hummingbirds all summer and the 3 feeders around the
deck needed to be refilled daily for several weeks. At one point we had 6+
female/juveniles and at least one adult male. Now the migrants are here, and
the feeders remain full. They prefer the salvias, cuphea and trumpet
honeysuckle on the deck as well as the blue lobelias, cardinal flowers,
phlox and bee balms in the gardens. (Also patches of wild jewelweed.)

Today I watched a hummer busy at a blue lobelia. It then flew up to sit on
the feeder for a sec, said 'Nah' and moved on to the salvias. Happens every
year.
