Tagging Loans for Borrowed and Permanent Items

Hi everyone,

I wanted to get some feedback if there is already an established
solution for this that others are using. I'm interested in having some
way to distinguish loans (in and out ones) between items that a museum
actually owns, and ones that they only temporarily own. I'm doing
researching under the two profiles: Fine and Contemporary Arts profile,
and Local History and Material Culture profile. My first guess/hunch
would be to add a new vocabulary for both of these status in a new field
or an existing one. However I just wanted to hear feedback from others
if they've incorporated a similar custom tagging feature for loans like
this? Thank you for the time everyone.

Peter -

In v4.5 we added a new field called Inventory Status that should serve this purpose for you - it's a controlled list where a cataloger can note if an object is accessed, on loan, deaccessioned, out for conservation, etc.

Take a look and let me know what you think.

Thanks,

Megan
