I observed 1 singing White-eyed Vireo at around 930 this morning in
the first patch of streamside willows near the University Ave. W.
entrance to Hillside Park in Waterloo. I did not relocate the bird
when I returned to the spot at 1130, but vocalizations were beginning
to die down at mid-day.
Other notable birds included Olive-sided, Willow, and Yellow-bellied
Flycatchers, and Mourning, Canada, and Wilson's Warblers.
Directions: The University Ave. W. entrance to Hillside Park is
immediately west of the interchange with Highway 85 (formerly Hwy
86). Park in the drive of the water treatment plant, cross the
bridge, and the path begins shortly on your right.
