Hi CT Birders,
I wanted to remind those who may have forgotten or aren't familiar with
World Shorebirds Day. It's a week long (not one day) count period where
shorebird data of any kind from around the world is collected and analyzed
for conservation and public awareness.
It's a really great cause and it's incredibly easy to participate. All you
need to do is share eBird lists with ANY shorebirds with the account:
WorldShorebirdsDay. That's it. Count period is today, September 3rd through
Sept 9th. Anywhere you are over the next 6 days, please enter data if you
are able! It's run by Gyorgy Szimuly, a Hungarian birder and
conservationist who specializes in shorebirds.
Here's a link to checklist sharing info. You can see the whole website from
here if you wish to learn more.

I am in no way affiliated with this project to promote it, simply personal
interest made me want to share this relevant cause to CT Birding.
