Hi there,
I am thinking of building a desk, but this time not with wood. I would
like to design it with openSCAD.
The structure would be made of metal, but I'm still hesitating between
iron heating pipes with cast iron fittings or aluminum extruded bars.
I have already found aluminum extruded bars within NopScad, I think
the threaded iron heating pipes should be fairly easy to build with
existing components.
Would you already have seen fittings like this designed with openSCAD:

I haven't found a library yet that does everything, just this set of
files that will help: CTV

I haven't done iron pipes, but I've done PVC. I did some stuff for
modeling sprinkler plumbing.
See https://forum.openscad.org/Plumbing-td29639.html .
It worked pretty well, but is only designed for plumbing, not
construction. It doesn't have any way to connect pipes into loops. (Of
course, if they happen to connect back into loops, it doesn't care,
but it won't help you.)
The BOSL2 library has NPT pipe threading modules, but it doesn’t have anything for the pipes themselves.
