Perhaps the ideal solution is to combine a prelube system with an oil
change, drain system and topping up pump/s. That's what I have.
Homebuilt system employing two good electric pumps one for each engine.
When topping up I simply dip the pick up tube into the 5 gal drum, throw
the levers and hit the switch. Underway throw the levers so the oil goes
straight from the sump into the oil filter as normal. Starting I hit the
switches until I hear the pump noise change and see the oil pressure go
up, about 20-30 secs.
