Cruising Report - MV Summer School - Lake Ontario
June 26 07

We are on a leisurely circuit of Lake Ontario, clockwise beginning @ Oswego,
NY
We have been to Sodus Bay, NY: Irondequoit, NY: Rochester, NY: Niagara on the
Lake, Ontario: Hamilton, Ontario, Port Credit, Ontario: Ontario Place,
Toronto: and Island Yacht Club, Toronto:
We missed Wilson, NY i am sorry to say, we should have stuck our nose in, it
has a clear channel and good water depth, about 8'. We have found good water
and dockage in all but Irondequoit, the channel of 10' depth has silted in to
3'8" on our depth sounder, I suspect by hugging the rock jetty to the West by
15' or so you might, just might get 5' in depth. Local knowledge applies here.
Diesel @ Niagara on the Lake was .99 a liter.

Plans have us entering the Trent Severn later this week, with overnights in
Peterboro, Orillia, Buckhorn, and Bobcaygeon, heading up north to Georgian Bay,
cruising a bit and then back down again 1000 Islands, across Lake Ontario and
back to Winter Harbor on the Erie Canal in Brewerton, NY.

Regards,
Capt. James Clausen, MV Summer School
Cruising the Lake Ontario, Rideau Canal, Trent Severn Canal,
St. Lawrence Seaway, and Georgian Bay, the Summer of 2007
