You may try to call them, they may still have a few on hand.
They were on the web site just a week ago.

I have a ThunderBolt GPS from a different source than TAPER.
Can someone tell me where I can get a TAPER like power supply
for my thunderbolt. I have checked Allelectronics without
success. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks, Bruce W1GBS

Thanks all who responded to my inquiry about a Thunderbolt PS.
I contacted TAPR and they said that they got their Thunderbolts and PS in
pairs from Tom and could not supply only a PS. I don't know who Tom is !

Hi Bruce,
I'm the Tom who arranged the TBolt group buy. Along with the
quantity buy of Thunderbolts, after some experimentation and
comparing prices, I chose power supplies from All Electronics
(their model PS-23). They had a large quantity at one time but
we cleaned them out of all stock for that cheap item in order to
bundle a suitable power supply with each Thunderbolt receiver.
So that's why All Electronics no longer has that item. If we had
extras or a solid supplier, then TAPR could sell them individually.
If All Electronics had more of these cheap surplus PS I would
have bought them. I hope that clears up the mystery.
We've shipped some TBolt's already (mostly pre-orders from
last year); TAPR is gathering tested stock now and you'll hear
soon in time-nuts when that door opens.
For some other power supply options see example ideas here:
http://www.leapsecond.com/pages/tbolt/noise.htm
http://www.leapsecond.com/tbolt-faq.htm
The +5 and +12 and -12 volt requirements are very standard so
it should be little problem finding something new or used that will
work. Note also there's nothing wrong with using two or even 3
separate supplies (with common ground).

Tom,
Thank you very much for the information. I am using a larger PS on my
Thunderbolt, but I was looking for something smaller. Thanks again for your
input.

Here is how I glued the AllElectronics power supply to the top of the
Thunderbolt and shortened the cable for a neat, compact package. I connected
the chassis wire of the power supply to the TB case.
http://www.ko4bb.com/Test_Equipment/Thunderbolt/group_buy/
The power supply is the exact same length as the TB, just the strain relief
for the DC Out cable sticks out a lot, so I cut it and removed the cable
jacket.
Didier KO4BB
I might try that too . . . except that the Thunderbolt has a
MiniCircuits ZFSC-2-1 splitter mounted on top, just above the DB9. The
splitter appears to be bolted from inside of the Thunderbolt, so the
Thunderbolt will have to be disassembled to remove the splitter.
Anyone taken a Thunderbolt apart? At first examination, it appears that
six screws should allow the two pieces of the enclosure to separate. Any
pitfalls or gotchas? Advice?
Thanks.

Yes, some of the Thunderbolts shipped have splitters mounted on
the frame. These were used for the 10 MHz output of the original
E911 application.
Some were small splitters with outside screws, others were larger
and screwed from the inside.
There's no problem opening up the TBolt case and removing the
MCL screws from the inside.

No problems. It's easy. Take the DB9 and BNC screws off too.
Thanks.
