It's too bad that more owner's sites don't offer sufficient space for
member's ads. We think it's far better than getting lost in the tiny-photo glut on
Yachtworld.
We sold our sailboat here in Trinidad 2 weeks ago. We did not use a broker.

The site is not really an owner's site but that of the former GM of
Westsail, who sells parts and his expertise. We created the copy in Word format and
included photos; and the rest was done by the site owner. Total cost: a flat
$75.00 from placement until the boat sold. Just to show how cheaply it could
be done by an owner's association.
Friends, who are professional "stagers" for home sales, created a url:
Caliber47LRCforsale.com and created pages with lots of hi-res photos and flowery
language; they sold their boat in 3 months, also here in Trinidad. Anyone
Googling for a Caliber 47LRC found this boat at the top of the 1st page!
We were sorry to see our Truelove go, but she went to good people, and we no
longer wanted two boats to maintain!
Hope this is a help to some who are selling during this difficult time.
Regards,
John
