Hello All,
Since even insects need oxygen one could buy a
few pounds (maybe 10?) of dry ice, place it in the
bilge and vacate the boat for a day. When you
return remember to open up the boat and run the
blowers and fans for a while before going inside.
I bet the bugs all die.
This would also be useful if you were leaving the
boat for a while. Just try to reduce the places
where the CO2 could exit the boat before you
return.
Just a thought.

let me preface my remarks with ...I HATE BUGS....but I am very pleased with the bug bombs that you set off then leave. The newer types leave very little residue anywhere. I do set it on a counter top or newspaper but that's about it. As a livaboard with a dog I'm prone to bugs of all sorts. I'm pleased to say that I haven't seen any since moving aboard 2 months ago with the exception of ants on the exterior...and that minimally. I do remove cereal from the cardboard boxes and place in airtight container, use plastic bags for groceries and keep all food prep areas and dishes clean. I set 2 (one fwd, one aft) cans of the bomb off per month. Also use the flea and tick repellant on the dog.

RAID makes smoke bombs (fumigators) that leave no residue and seem to
perform as claimed and reach hard to get at surfaces. They are not aleays
easy to find, but they are worth it as they leave zero residue (that you can
see or feel.)
