He may have some subject > matter expertise for your Pacific transit. Yes, Rick did the forecasting for the last Pacific Cup I participated in (2002). Racers aren't allowed by the rules to contact external weather routers during the course of the race (which usually runs between 6 days for the biggest/fastest boats and 17 days for the slowest boats). Rick provided a lot of detailed predictions pre-race and his weather information proved to be quite good. He has a lot of experience in this particular part of the ocean. I can't attest to his experience outside this region. Mark Tilden
