Lessee, there vastly, vastly, more tens of tens of thousands of Lightnings, Lasars, canoes, PWC (gawd, they are everywhere), sailboards, kiteboards, surfboards, dingys, keelboats, 12 foot fishing boats, Hobies, and not to mention floating inner tubes out on the water every day, and not a one of them carries a radio... So where is the invective and sneering for them? After all, you may run out of gas and need to be rescued and those teenagers on that roaring jetski will just flash past and leave you stranded out there all of a mile from shore because you could not be bothered to plan ahead... Actually, I think this has been hammered to death - and frankly I find the breathless, "How dare you . . . " postings against Rudy to be self centered and rude... He chooses not to use a radio...
