From Sol Satin:
10/18/14 - Guilford, Sachem's Head -- 11 Royal Terns (7 adult, 4
juvenile), and 2 Forster's Terns.

From Sarah Faulkner:
10/18/14 - Madison, Hammonasset State Park -- I saw one Royal Tern at
the end of the Moraine Trail at Hammonasset in the afternoon.

From Patrick Comins with Fran Zygmont:
10/18/14 - Litchfield, White Memorial, Little Pond -- several Virginia
Rails, one Sora, lots of Pine Siskins, several Purple Finches, Marsh
Wrens, American Pipit, Lincoln's Sparrow.  Also an apparent
"Audubon's" Warbler (western Yellow-rumped Warbler) at the entrance to
Little Pond at White's Woods Road.
Bantam Lake -- Bonaparte's Gull and Rusty Blackbird at North Bay.

From Roy Zartarian:
10/18/14 - Newington, municipal parking lot -- immature PEREGRINE
FALCON chasing after a flock of smaller birds. The Peregrine was so
close to my head that I could hear its wing flaps and feel the
downdraft.

From Jim and Carol Zipp with Fat Robin Bird Group:
10/18/14 - Brooksvale Park, Hamden -- 11 PINE SISKINS, 12 PURPLE
FINCH, 1 YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER.

From Frank Mantlik, with Chris Loscalzo, Steve Spector, Steve Broker,
and 17 others:
10/18/14 - Milford, Silver Sands State Park -- The COA Sparrow
Workshop found a nice variety (62 species) and number of birds this
morning, with highlights:  8 species of sparrows including 10
WHITE-CROWNED, 1 VESPER, 1 NELSON'S; Plus 29 WILD TURKEYS, 2 EASTERN
MEADOWLARKS.

From Jim Pfeifer:
10/18/14 - Somers -- Spent an hour this morning near the intersection
of Durkee Road and Four Bridges Road.  There is a new housing
development started on the north side of Durkee, and a lot of dirt
piles covered in weeds, adjacent to some brushy edge habitat and corn
fields.  I had 7 sparrow species, including 3 "Ipswitch" Savanah
Sparrow), 3 White-Throated Sparrow, and 2 White-Crowned Sparrow (first
Winter).

From Eileen Becker-Dunn:
10/18/14 - Branford -- Two Peregrine Falcons vocalizing and diving at
each over the house. Shore Drive, Short Beach Branford on the Farm
River. Delightful and a first in my yard.

From Paul Carrier:
10/18/14 - Harwinton, yard -- 1 Winter Wren, 2 Purple Finch at feeder,
plus 4 Pine Siskin, 1 Red-breasted Nuthatch.  (Up in the clouds I
think I heard Snow Geese!)

From Angela Dimmitt:
10/18/14 - New Milford/Merryall -- flyover 20-25 PINE SISKINS.
