Interesting way to do this Georgs, no ground rules, no standards, just
opinion. I'm not sure that this is worth the effort, but here goes. I've
added "why" as it seems to me we need more than just opinion.
I did broadbrush the ground rules, which I hoped to keep to a minimum in
order inspire freewheeling submission, which is what's happening.
But you are right, as Rebecca pointed out, and as others have started to
do, a brief rationale ought to be added for each submission.
I do believe we are looking for actual boats, not mere designs.
I do believe candidates can be great voyagers, great cruisers or great
live-aboards, or a combination of the three elements.
My plan is to assemble something resembling a slate of candidates after
the first go-around for further consideration by the List, with perhaps
even the means to vote for individual boats.
It will be interesting to see behind which trawlers we can muster
sufficient consensus to declare them truly the most outstanding in
trawler history to date.
