To those sailors planning to ship masts from chicage to Mobile, I dont' want to contradict my friend Skipper Bob, but I want to offer a second suggestion for a place to ship your masts. Dog River is OK but I really love the EAstern Shore...so much so that I have moved here a year ago. There is the Eastern Shore Marine on Fly Creek in Fairhhope. I highly recommend it! Fairhope is such a picturesque little town, one you should see and visit! the marina offers a courtesy car among other things, and car rentals are nearby. Dog River is kinda far down and a bridge is out and Mobile isn't as neat as Fairhope! The Fairhope Yacht club, also on Fly creek is nearly 100% sailboats. The club house was destroyed in the hurricane but they are now replacing the docks that were lost. Just a suggestion and an alternative. If you choose EAstern Shore, ask Beverly for my phone 3 or email me directly.
