Ladies and Gentlemen,
I would encourage anyone looking at a battery changen, and, in particular those interested in AGM batteries, to visit the www.odysseybatteries.com website and study their technical information carefully. You will find it very informative. I have used them for many years in many different situations and found them very advantageous. I have found that they handle abuse very well and fail very gradually. I have had them in snowmobiles for many years and one battery was fully frozen twice for weeks plumb dead due to the key being left on. After about a week of charging it had recovered to the proper voltage and is still starting a 4 cycle snow mobile engine fine in below 0 weather and is now 7 years old.
They have a 3 year 100% replacement warranty on batteries used in marine service. They claim 400 cycles at 80% discharge and 1000 cycles at 35% discharge - I cannot confirm that but that is what they claim
Anyhow, give their technical info a read you will find it informative, regardless of what you decide to do. I have been very happy with all of mine. They are not cheap but are low hassle and highly reliable.

I too am a great fan of Odyssey batteries. People should know, however,
that exactly the same batteries can be obtained under the Sears Diehard
Platinum label at considerably lower prices. These are grey rather than
red, but appear, at least to me, to have identical specifications.
While Odyssey batteries are not the greatest for house batteries, they
excel in delivering large amounts of current over a short period. For
starting or thruster batteries, they are simply the best. You can throw
out your 8D's or 4D's starting batteries and use one group 31 Odyssey to
start two engines.
Best,
Steve
