Our Wednesday Series is complete and preliminary results were announced earlier this week. Congrats again to 50/50 (Non-Spinnaker Division) and Hee Soo (Spinnaker Division).
But, don't retire your racing crew yet!

Pursuit Race Series concludes with our second Pursuit Race on Wednesday, September 4th.

Sunday/Regatta Series (Spin and Non-Spin) is still wide open, and there are plenty of weekend races to come between now and Closing Day. Spinnaker Division boats that sail in the four (4) HRYRA Fall events are likely to achieve the minimum of 10 races required to qualify in the Spinnaker Division. Or sail Non-Spin in all the NBC Sunday and Regatta events and you're sure to get 10 qualifying races in that division.
In Regattas (NBC or HRYRA) all PHRF boats (regardless of club membership or fleet membership) race in a regatta division (e.g. Spinnaker or Non-Spinnaker), based on the regatta registration process. We count the results of the race based on all competitors using Cox-Sprague scoring. The more boats you beat, the better your score. Sheba hopes to compete against all 12 Non-Spin PHRF racers who come out for Wednesdays (Open Fleet, Cruising Fleet, Fleet Friends).

Fleet Champ Series -- any race in any division counts for Fleet Champ. The more boats you beat the better your winning percentage. Just compete in 20 races for the season (again, any division). If you've been out only on Wednesdays, you're about half-way there. But, unlike the Wednesday Series, there are no DNCs in the scoring, so you're not at a disadvantage for missing races as long as you make 20 races in total.
For Fleet Champ, The Office is currently in 1st place, and has completed 15 races: 7 in Spinnaker Division and 8 in Non-Spinnaker division. Sheba in 2nd has completed 17 Non-Spin races, 50/50 in 3rd has completed 10 Non-Spin races, and Hee Soo in 4th has completed 19 races: 18 in Spin and 1 in Non-Spin.
As you can see from the calendar below, with a concerted effort in Sept and Oct, even a boat that hasn't raced yet this season could get 20 races for the Fleet Champ series, or 10 races for the Sunday/Regatta series. If you're not a Cruising Fleet member yet, you can join the Fleet now and take home a trophy! Hope to see you on the race course!
