Observation start time: 07:00:00
Observation end time: 13:00:00
Total observation time: 6 hours
Official Counter: Chris Burris
Observers: Ronnie Goodhand, Su Ross-Redmond
Weather:
Temps ranged from 17C to 23C. Heavy overcast in early morning gave way to
partly sunny patches in the early afternoon. Wind was light, with the
occasional moderate gust, beginning NW and ending due N.
Raptor Observations:
A rather modest flight of limited variety given the favourable winds.
Patches of rain into the pre-dawn hours and the ensuing high humidity made
for an especially slow start.
Non-raptor Observations:
Highlights were about 2400 Blue Jays, one calling Greater Yellowlegs, and a
few warblers. eBird list here: https://ebird.org/checklist/S196280500
Predictions:
Stiff SE winds and possible storms are forecast. Raptors fond of cliff
updrafts (possibly a Peregrine or two?) could show in the drier spells.
