To All
Congratulations to our Wednesday Night winners for 2017. The final results
are attached after the four throw-out scores were calculated. We completed
17 races this year, the most for any Wednesday Night season, losing only two
races due to weather.
The NBC Perpetual Howard Bissinger Award for the most participation in the
2017 Wednesday Night series will be shared by John Michael in Spirit and Lee
Luce in Æolus. Both boats completed all 17 races.
The USSA rules are very clear about breaking a tie-breaker in a series. This
year the battle between Charlie Brieant in Zoom and Bob Millstein in
Pentimento (both racing with us from Shattemuc) was right down to the wire.
If you look at the results, both boats had the same number of Firsts, the
same number of Seconds, but Zoom had more Third places. Thus Zoom won the
tie-breaker and 3rd place for the Wednesday Night series.
Many thanks to those who helped with the scoring. Awards will be given out
to the skippers and crews for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place at the Cruising Fleet
Pot Luck Dinner and Racing Awards Saturday, December 2nd starting at 5 pm.
Watch your e-mails for more details as we get closer to the event.
The racing season is winding down, but isnt over yet. Still to go are two
Sunday races, and the HRYRA Last Chance Regatta on October 7th 8th. Dont
forget that the last Sunday race on October 15th starts at 12:30, followed
by NBC Closing Ceremonies after the racing.
See you on the water.
