eBird list below: Heronry & Osprey nest look normal; but I've heard two vague reports of an eagle's nest being built near by (vide infra), which, if true, I hope will not affect the heronry.
Anybody else hear of this?

Great Blue Heron 7 At least, a bit hard to count. I don't think all the nests in the original eastern area are occupied. Some action in new western section.
Osprey 1 huddled low in nest, hard to see.
Bald Eagle 0 A report today on Nextdoor.com Whitneyville of an eagle's nest being built: "If your coming from dixwell ave to Waite near the small bridge it will be on the right In a pine tree on top", which I take to mean on Mather St. near the Waite St. intersection, looking S. across the pond towards Treadwell. I heard 2nd hand a similar (& similarly vague) report.
I checked it out today @ 4 PM and could not find any evidence of nest or birds in this area, although I can't say I ruled it out.
I include this vague report because if it is confirmed, it will be interesting to see if the Heronry remains with an eagle's nest a few hundred yards away. I've heard of similar cases, but the nest closer I think, where the herons abandoned the area.
