Hi,

I am having some issues with my collection space upgrade.

  1. Are there any detailed upgrade docs on this? (upgrading from tomcat ver
    .56 to .64)
  2. It seems that the web apps services need to be upgraded as well. There
    are errors like the following..

2017-10-27 18:16:51,911 ERROR [localhost-startStop-1]
[org.springframework.web.context.ContextLoader:351] Context initialization
failed
org.springframework.beans.factory.parsing.BeanDefinitionParsingException:
Configuration problem: authentication-provider element cannot be used with
other attributes when using 'ref' attribute
Offending resource: ServletContext resource
[/WEB-INF/applicationContext-security.xml]

Any docs on how this should be done?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Michael,
What versions of CollectionSpace are you upgrading from/to? It would also
be helpful to know what you've done to get to the error.

I don't think there's any documentation that covers this, but to upgrade
CollectionSpace, you basically want to follow the installation instructions
for the new version. There are some things you won't have to do, like
install the prereqs and postgres, because you'll already have them from the
previous version. You do need to rebuild/deploy new versions of the
webapps, as covered in the installation instructions (but don't recreate
the databases, because you'll have data you want to keep).

And obviously, try this in a test environment before upgrading a production
server.
