From Meredith Sampson w/ Brian O'Toole, Penny Solum, Jalna Jaeger,&
visitor from Bethel:
12/14/14 - Old Greenwich, Greenwich Point Park -- SHORT-EARED OWL
strafed through holly grove affording only a 2-3 second look, leaving
us drop-jawed in its wake!

same location.  Also, Rusty Blackbirds.

From Patrick and Maxson Comins:

Meriden, Research Parkway, Bishop's Pond -- Northern Shoveler.
Meriden, Hannover Pond -- 2 Redhead.

From Matt Hoyt:

From Maria Stockmal:
12/14/14 - Derby, Osbornedale State Park -- 3 Winter Wrens, 2

From Don Morgan:
12/14/14 - Haddam, Haddam Meadows -- The Northern Shrike was there
when I arrived around 10:30, and thanks in part to another birder I
was on him within 5 minutes. What we learned very quickly is, the bird
doesn't stay in one spot for too long.  Even without being "pushed,"
every five minutes or so it would fly, sometimes just a short
distance, sometimes out of sight. But every time, it eventually
appeared again, to be found by someone, and it was still there in the
park around 1:15.

From Carol & Gary Lemmon:
12/14/14 - Branford, yard -- For the last six weeks we have had 11
Purple Finches at our 9 feeders daily.

From Dana Campbell:
12/14/14 - Middletown, Pine Grove Cemetery -- Brown Creeper.

From Tom and Ingrid Schaefer:
12/14/14 - Salisbury, Lakeville, Lake Wononscopomuc -- one male and
three female Redhead in large flock of Ruddy Ducks.  Also, pair of
male Northern Pintail swimming near center of Lake.

From Paul Cianfaglione:
12/14/14 - West Hartford, Reservoir # 6 (Hartford CBC) -- 1 PINE
SISKIN.

From Alan Scuterud via Meredith Sampson:
