All hands contemplating upgrading to AOL 6.0 DON'T.
All AOL 6.0 e-mail contains HTML and the TWL server has a filter which
rejects all such e-mail. I had no idea that I was shifting to HTML e-mail
when I upgraded and the only way I found out was a kind note from Frank
Lawlor. Three different Tech Support people at AOL have assured me that
there is no way to keep HTML out of AOL 6.0 e-mail. The only solution, if
one wants to post to TWL with AOL e-mail is to downgrade back to AOL 5.0
which I have done. However, in doing so, you lose your Address Book since in
going to 6.0 it migrated to the AOL server and can't be brought back.
Loss of posting on privileges to TWL is the only reason I need to not upgrade
to AOL 6.0. I only wish I had known before I upgraded. Don't make the same
mistake and please, no lectures about AOL. I only keep it to keep a long
time e-mail address.
