There is an adult male and an adult female Peregrine Falcon in downtown Pontiac, Michigan. Both these birds have consistently been in the area since early in 2010. It appears that they nested in the area in 2009 and I was never able to see a fledged bird that year. In 2010 they nested again and I saw one young female and both adults. They are were checking out and flying into the hack box on the south west lower corner of the AT&T tower and calling to each other over the last week. I am hoping they will use the hack box this year. They frequently perch on the POH signs at Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital tower. Please be aware that the hospital security people are very sensitive to anyone around the hospital with a camera, binoculars or other kinds of optics. If you come to look for the birds you may be asked what you are doing. Most of the security people know about the birds because I work there and give them updates. They are just trying to protect the privacy of the patients so please just tell them what you are doing and move along if asked. If you want to spend more then a few minutes looking I would suggest that you check in with hospital security and ask for permission. Carl A.
