From Timothy L Thompson:
02/13/14 - Groton, Avery Point, UConn Campus -- Snowy Owl sitting
100yds due west of lighthouse. In the snow on walking trail. Same bird
from yesterday, dark cap, dark sides and back.

From Jan Collins:
02/13/14 - Somers, Billings Rd near 9th District Rd intersection --
40-45 SNOW BUNTINGS feeding along the road in between dodging traffic.
I occasionally see 4-5 Buntings mixed in with Horned Larks but this is
the first time I have seen this large a flock, all Snow Buntings, in
Somers.  Also, a couple days ago in the "raptor tree" at the west end
of the open fields on Hutton Rd, 2 PEREGRINE FALCONS, hopefully a
pair, one was perched while the other was performing an impressive
aerial display around it.

From  Brian Kleinman:
02/13/14 - East Granby, Intersection of 189/North Road -- this morning
I noticed 5 sparrow sized bird foraging in the snow in the middle of
route 189 right where North Road intersects.  As I got closer I was
amazed to see that they were SNOW BUNTINGS.  There are plenty of
tobacco fields around and Simsbury Airport is only a mile away, so it
makes sense that they¹re in the area, just surprised to see them at
the corner of my driveway!
