Earl update

Just as an update, Earl's gone, (for us) Fiona wasn't a factor, (not even
much of a breeze) Gaston looks like will die down before hitting us, (we
hope so).

We came through just fine and so did the boat and the mooring rig. No
sign of any wear at all on the chafe sleeves or the straps. When I can,
I'll lift the chain's weight, slide the sleeves back and check them and
the straps, turn the sleeves over and be ready again. We did take some
water, via wind, even though we duct taped everywhere we could think of.
Really tough to stop water carried by 100+mph wind. It messed up a closet
door but that's not bad, considering.

Many boats were put on the beach/rocks and several sunk, but mostly due
to lack of ground tackle or preparation. I have put up some vids on
Youtube of some boats damaged near us if your interested, as well as vids
of the storm here:

I don't think there's a better way to handle chafe than the
straps/sleeves IMO.

It's been really strange being able to communicate like this during a
storm. The internet or cell service never went down here.
