Hi,

The data sheet for the 1000B is available on the Symmetricom website.

The pinout is not given.

Here is the pinout.

1- Electronics return
2- Control voltage in -10 to +10 VDC
3- Coarse tune in voltage
4- +12VDC reference out, coarse tune hot
5- Oven return
6- Oven monitor
7- +24VDC oven power
8- +24VDC electronics power
9- Case ground

On some units the internal coarse control is disabled and the pot is
brought out to the instruments rear panel to allow adjustment without
disassembling the unit!

You can tell if this is the case  if wires are connected to the
mainframes connector on pins 1 3 and 4 and finding the pot at the other
end.

These 1000B have pins 3 and 4 as shown.

In this case pins 1 and 4 connect across the pot and the wiper goes to
pin 3. The pot on the 1000B will not have any effect.

Hope this helps.

Sorry for the off topic question, but my partner, Kate, is off visiting
friends in Canada and USA on Friday and is in 'panic' mode.

The problem is that she has now got it into her head that she might need
to get innoculated for 'something', but she doesn't know what and I
don't think she needs any jabs...

However, as the US immigration people are on holidays for the
Presidential inauguration, she can't get a reply until it's too late to
do anything about arranging to go to see the Dr. to get any jabs she
'might' need.

So, can anyone tell me what jabs, if any, visitors to Canada or the USA
might be asked if they have had recently?

Thanks - Dave

Dave,

I would think the immigration people in the UK would probably have some idea in
that regard.  At least it would not hurt to ask them.

I married a limey. Her family and friends use us as a home base as they travel. I've never heard of any special shots required. Standard UK inoculations should be fine. Only special shots I've heard of is when you go to under developed countries. Maybe where she is going has an outbreak of the flu?

Biggest problem I hear from my relatives is the depression that sets in when they leave sunny mid 70 degree tempertures every day to a cold rainy Britain. :)

Thanks for the replies all.  I won't respond to all of them
individually, but all the advice and links are grateully received.

Thanks - Dave

P.S - Yes, the one about coming back to the UK in February from Tampa
Bay may well be valid, but the first leg is from mild and wet UK to
freezing Ottowa. :-)

I think she should just relax and enjoy the ride.

I have never got any shots or nor have any of my family, friends and
colleagues for as long as I can remember. I have honestly more
interesting experiences from all my travels to France than to USA/Canada.

Good warm winter clothes is as always recommended as she will probably
be colder than in the UK.

Besides that normal common sense works well to protect onself, as always.

Cheers,
Magnus

For Canada? Nothing at all. My wife and I are frequent visitors to the BC area, thanks to the fact our falconry mentor lives on Vancouver Island. In four-plus years of frequent border crossings, including one where we were delivering a Harris hawk, not once were we ever asked about innoculations or informed that anyone from the States needs such.

Happy travels.

How about:

Rabies shots.
Body armor.
Loads and loads of dosh.
Websters dictionary.
US to UK translator (those chappies have some strange banter, you know).
Phone numbers of top quality lawyers (better put them on a retainer)
Smog masks.
Gaffa tape to tape your fingers crossed that nothing goes wrong.
Remember, if you hear a bang, hit the deck.
If you hear a voice say "freeze", don't move or you'll be shot.
Milk of magnesia to combat the chili dogs.
Don't turn on the tv or you may need mental health care.
etc...

That is so ignorant I hardly know what to say!

Why don't you just admit that you hate all Americans, and know
virtually nothing about the US?

The biggest risk, to foreign visitors to the US, is pedestrian
accidents.  We kill a lot of tourists, and a lot of inattentive
natives that way.  UK tourists are at an extra disadvantage because
their training from birth tells them to look the wrong way for
US traffic.  They look to the right for curb lane traffic, and
get hit from the left.
