Hope to see you all next year! Weather: A more benign day today with a moderate wind from the south south west, scattered clouds with sunny intervals and good visibility. The temperature started at 2c and ended at what seemed a mild 9c. Raptor Observations: A quiet day as befits the last of the season. Two Bald Eagles looking determined enough to be migrating, a Red-tailed Hawk way off to the north, a dishevelled looking Turkey Vulture and the last raptor of the season........a Cooper's Hawk! Non-raptor Observations: Many, many Mallards (7,160) huddled around patches of open water with a few other dabbling ducks to be spotted amongst them. A full house of Mergansers - Common (12), Hooded (7) and Red-breasted (2). A few small birds reappeared after two very cold days including fly overs of Horned Lark (16), American Pipit (6), Cedar Waxwing (40) and the inevitable American Goldfinch (210).
