Lee, I've always called it a "stopper block", but I have no idea if there is a more widely used or industry-coined term. If it is important, check with industrial or crane folks. Now thatt you've got my curiosity aroused, maybe I will check, too.

I have an electric winch that lifts
the tender to the boat deck.

There is a round, plastic covered disc that "sits" just
above the hook that
makes contact with a bar on the winch to stop the winch just
short of being
"too-blocked."

I am struggling to find the proper name for that disk and
wonder if anyone
can tell me what it is.
