We have to sell our Thompson trawler Loafer.  We bought it April of 2011
for $46,000 and lived aboard for 20 months on the St Johns River.
We had LOAFER hauled in March of 2013 and discovered that the problems
we’d been having with electrical appliances were not limited to the 110
system.  We also have a bonding problem and electrolysis issues.
We cannot afford to have repairs made and must sell the boat.  I have
both the original buyer’s survey from 2011  and a wiring survey done
this year. Also have photos.
LOAFER is in dry storage at Gibson Dry Docks in San Mateo, Florida.  I
expect to be there, clearing our stuff out of the boat, the week of
December 1st, 2014 through about December 5th, 2014 if anyone is interested
in checking her out.
LOAFER has a single Perkins 6-135 that had a major rebuild (new block)
less than 100 engine hours ago.  She has a 12 kw generator that ran well
before developing fuel problems.  She has large fuel and water tanks, a
vacu-flush system with 1 1/2 heads.  There is a washer and dryer aboard
that we were told worked.  Two onboard AC units were working until our
wiring problems got worse.
The boat needs a good going over by someone electronically inclined.
Controls, engine, steering work from both stations.  Auto pilot/Chart
plotter works.  Batteries need proper containers and Propane tanks (3
aluminum 20 lb tanks) need proper storage.
Offers over $20,000 or trades (land/boat in Central Oregon) considered.
