I was on this site when it started and dropped off after a few yawns. Glad to
see it is flourishing.
I know the Water World (Georgs) rules and obviously won't post commercial
notes here. My formal signature has been approved by the listmeisters on the
other WW lists. Glad to be participating and hope to provide useful
information and industry insights on all things trawler.
When the megayacht trend started its dramatic upswing around 2000, a lot of
boat builders jumped on the bandwagon. Subsequently it was the downfall of
many, including the beginning of the end for several well known trawler
builders. It became costly mistakes for others and very few trawler builders
have succeeded in the megayacht market. I have my beliefs why, but that's
another subject on "trawler mindset." Nonetheless, the theory is the larger
the boat, the more room for profit. Also boats built in multiples allow for
more profit.
For a general range of categories: over 50 feet is a yacht, 80 is a megayacht,
150 is a superyacht, and gigayachts start around 250. ymmv.
Now, back to reality and practicality, Sea Spirit offers models in 55, 60, 75,
and 88.

"I was revisiting the Sea Spirit 60 that you just sold to Dan F.and wondered
if there are any plans to build a smaller boat, say a 45 foot version?"
