Trawler List,
I am in the process of ordering a new boat and have a question on bottom
coatings. The hull will be solid fiberglass.
1st. option. 1.5 oz. chopped strand mat skin coat impregnated with
epoxy/vinylester resin in the hull from rubrail down.
2nd. option. CopperPoxy bottom paint.
In asking around at local boating yards it has been about a 60/40 split in favor of the
CopperPoxy. It is cheaper to go with the CopperPoxy, but in the total price of the boat
it is minimal. Any expertise that you all could give me would be greatly appreciated.
