Sorry, but this is not right. If you use a Swagelok compression fitting, it
will last more or less forever, be tough as nails, withstand several thousand
PSI without leaking, and still be easy to disassemble in 20 years. It will
also meet both ABYC and CG regulations.

My reference was to compression fittings using a brass ferrule on soft
copper tubing, commonly used on domestic water plumbing, that are not
acceptable. Swagelok fittings are a proprietary type fitting and are not
the same, and are acceptable. Sorry if I was misleading. I still
wouldn't ever use common plumbing compression fittings on an oil line,
just asking for problems.
