BEST WISHES FOR A SAFE AND SUCCESSFUL EVENT... ... to all Gators crossing the starting and finishing lines this weekend! This is another huge weekend on our club calendar with 21 Gators competing in 5 events taking place between Saturday and next Wednesday! And three of the events are offered by club sponsors DelMo Elite Sports and Steelman Racing! We are also offering our usual Sunday morning swim slot at the Spring Valley YMCA's indoor lap pool between 11:15am-12:15pm. If you have an event this weekend and are not listed below, PLEEEASE post a comment so that we can send magical mystical Gator performance powers your way as well! Here's what's going on... Saturday, August 7: • Atlantic City Triathlon (Atlantic City, NJ): DelMo Sports offers this flat and fast race that includes sprint and Olympic distance options with both offering some cycling time on the AC Expressway! Don Mack will be competing in the live sprint triathlon and Kate O'Donnell will be taking advantage of the virtual sprint tri option! • The Chocolate Tour (Manheim, PA): Both Joe DeNicola and Susan Flavin will be participating in the 50 mile option of this very sweet cycling event! Sunday, August 8: • Steelman Triathlon (Quakertown, PA): Steelman Racing offers this signature Gators club event, an annual favorite, at Lake Nockamixon State Park. At last count we had 13 Gators on the start list including Brittany Acosta (first OLY distance!), Ginny Angus, Jill Basile, Shawn O'Malley, Ralph Owens, Gina Stango, Jens Sydor, Logan Washburn, and Beth Wysoczanski competing in the Olympic triathlon plus Lindsay Inger (first OWS tri!), Brian Kozera (with Avery!), Paige Miller, and Joyce Williams will be competing in the sprint triathlon! We'll also have our tent and flags set up in the tri club village and the following Gators will be there to volunteer and/or provide support... Chris Acosta, Jon Crosby (thanks for volunteering!), Kristin Kozera (with Paige and Josey), Paul Kratzinger (thanks for volunteering!), Sheri Kuss (thanks for volunteering!), Don Mack, and Jeffrey Stango! • Lums Pond Triathlon (Bear, DE): Chris Townsley will be competing in the Olympic distance aquabike event! Wednesday, August 11: • Poverty to Cove 2.4 Mile Swim (Cape May, NJ): We will have 3 Gators... Sara Dansbury, Susan Flavin, and Cindy Kelecic... participating in this DelMo Sports IRONMAN distance swim event that includes a fast current moving in the right direction! We're expecting some PRs (and perhaps this will also be a new distance record for our Lady Gators)! Have a great weekend!
