From Bev Propen  12/29

So I should rephrase the description I gave of the house finch  eye disease.
A more accurate description would be that it is a respiratory  infection that
shows up as progressively worsening conjunctivitis for the house  finches.
Some do recuperate on their own, some die and occasionally  those that can be
caught can be given medication.
I did have a goldfinch with an infected eye at my feeder this  year.
