Kick off the 2nd Annual Salida Bike Fest with this social mixer at the
Salida SteamPlant! Mixer cost is $8 per person and includes light
appetizers and one drink coupon. We are very excited that this year’s
mixer will feature guest speaker Eszter Horanyi (full bio below). Mixer
will take place between 5 – 7 p.m. and guest speaker presentation will
begin at 7 p.m.
Eszter Horanyi is the top female ultra-endurance cyclist of our time. She
holds the women’s records in the Colorado Trail Race; The Tour Divide
(Banff, Canada to Antelope Wells, NM); The Arizona Trail 300; and The
Iditarod 350. In 2009 she was the 24 hour solo national champion. She has
been the fastest woman at the Vaport Trail 125 three times, once on a
single speed. In 2014 she plans to ride the full Iditarod, the Tour
Divide, and the Colorado Trail Race.
Eszter has a degree in physics from CU and a Master’s Degree in Mechanical
Engineering. Besides riding bikes, she teaches physics, math, and mountain
biking skills to kids while doing a bit of writing on the side. Her goal
is to ride as many cool trails with as many cool people in her lifetime as
she can.
