Pacific Gallery Artists (PGA) is a non profit organization founded in 1946. The purpose of PGA is to promote art in the Pacific Northwest, interest the public in the work of local artists, and cooperate with local groups in artistic enterprises. We welcome all interested 2D and 3D artists. We meet September through June, the second Tuesday of the month, 7 PM, at the South Park Community Center, 4851 South Tacoma Way, Tacoma, WA. (except Dec. & June when we meet at a private home). We usually have a demo or hands on project at every meeting. DATE OF THE NEXT MEETING: Tues. Oct. 13, 2009 TIME: 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM DEMO this October........... A painting demonstration by two well known artists, Dan Riley and Joe MacKechnie. They will paint and talk about their techniques in tandem. Dan Riley will paint a portrait using acrylic paints on watercolor paper while Joe MacKechnie will paint a landscape using acrylic on canvas paper. Dan and Joe teach art workshops at the Arts Umbrella in Bothel. Both Dan and Joe are known for their rich colors and expressive portraits and figurative drawings.
